the stance

An upright, relaxed stance is important. The legs should be hip-ready apart and loaded evenly. So nothing knocks you down.

01

Tension in the body

Have good basic tension in your body so that you stand powerfully, but don't be physically tense. The Japanese Rajio Taiso, for example, helps against physical tension.

02

Warm up your voice

It is also important to warm up the voice. Simply hum or sing along to the song with la la la.

03

Activate your lips

Let your lips rest quietly together. Then blow through them so that they vibrate and sound like a bumblebee buzzing.

04

Make your face shine

For 2 minutes, pull the corners of your mouth as high as possible, as if you wanted to pull them up to your ears. Your body will feel as if you are in a really good mood.

05

No milk!

Before giving a speech, you should not consume any dairy products, not even in your coffee. Dairy products make your voice mucous.

NO MILK

06

Drink enough

Your body needs enough water. Drink enough at times so that you don't become dehydrated, but not so much that you have to go to the bathroom during the lecture.

07

Moving

You don't have to stand in one place like a tree. You can also move around a bit. But don't take too big steps and always return to the starting position. Maintain eye contact with the audience.

08

Getting stuck

If you get stuck in the lecture, take a break and take a quick breath. If you have forgotten your lines, go back on stage to the place where you still knew the lines.

09

Lecterns

A lectern is not always an advantage. Don't hide behind it. If possible, avoid the lectern and stand in front of your audience.
